Moscow has expressed its willingness to engage in peace talks with Washington over Ukraine, with discussions potentially beginning as early as Thursday. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Moscow is prepared to discuss a peace initiative previously deliberated between the United States and Ukraine.

“We are ready to discuss the initiatives set out there in future contacts with the United States. Such contacts are already possible as early as today,” Zakharova said.

The development follows diplomatic engagements earlier in the week. After high-level talks in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Ukraine signalled its readiness to accept a 30-day ceasefire, while Washington committed to presenting the proposal to Moscow.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin reported that US negotiators were en route to Russia. It also confirmed that Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov had spoken with US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz over the phone on Wednesday, underscoring ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the conflict.
