Men dominated grievance filings across all age groups, though women represented 42% of complaints in the 25-38 bracket.

Professionals and service employees made up 62% of complainants, while 67% held at least a graduate degree.

Regionally, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of insurance grievances among millennials.

Shilpa Arora, co-founder & COO of Insurance Samadhan, said, “Despite being tech-savvy and financially aware, millennials still struggle with claim approvals. The industry must improve transparency and customer service as India moves towards ‘Insurance for All by 2047’ amid rising medical costs.”

She also pointed out that 31% of India’s population remains uninsured due to high costs and low penetration.

“The industry needs to tailor products for different demographics and simplify grievance redressal,” she added.

Insurance Samadhan has resolved over 18,000 cases, recovering ₹160 crore in claims for more than 15,000 individuals. Its Polifyx app has cut grievance resolution time by 55%, reducing the turnaround from 60 days to a significantly shorter period, the company said in a statement.
