Released on March 14, 2025, John Abraham starrer ‘The Diplomat,’ has completed its first week at the box office. The film, which opened with decent numbers and showed growth on the debut weekend, witnessed a major dip in the weekday business. According to a Sacnilk report, with the collection of Rs.1.35 crores (early estimates), the total of the movie after a 7-day run is Rs.19.10 crore, just an inch away from the Rs.20 crore mark.
Telling the tale of Uzma’s rescue, an Indian girl who was deceived in marriage and got trapped in Pakistan, ‘The Diplomat’ is a thriller drama. This Shivam Nair directorial is based on true events and highlights the crucial role played by an Indian diplomat in the rescue of Uzma.
After impressing everyone with its debut weekend numbers, which were more than Rs. 12 crores, the film failed to bring footfall to the theatres during the weekdays. On its first Monday, it saw a dip of more than 60 percent. Then, another drop in the business was seen on Tuesday, when the film minted Rs. 1.45 crore. Wednesday saw a slight growth, as the movie made Rs. 1.50 crore, but again, on Thursday, the early estimates showed a drop.

The film has faced tough competition from Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava,’ which though has completed more than a month of theatrical release, refuses to give up the reigns of the box office. And now with the release of ‘Snow White,’ it would be interesting to see the box office dynamics changing in the coming days.
