Harsh Pokharna, the CEO and co-founder of Bengaluru-based OkCredit, recently opened up about his entrepreneurial journey on Instagram.

Pokharna has highlighted the challenges he encountered before launching his business.

The entrepreneur said that he quit his Flipkart job to start his own business because he “wanted to make a lot of money very quickly.”

“Founders were raising millions of dollars in funding all around me. It seemed easy. But, the reality?” he added in his post.

Pokharna further revealed that he failed “for the first 2 years trying 3 different ideas,” sharing failures before launching his current business.

The OKCredit co-founder added that he had to work as a freelancer to make ends meet at the time because he ‘burned through’ all his savings.

Pokharna added that despite building OkCredit for eight years, he still has a “long way to go” and has gained important insight.

He mentioned that building a startup is a “long-term game, not a get rich quick scheme,” adding that a “startup is not equal to instant success.”

Pokharna concluded his post by writing, “Play it only if you truly want to solve a problem, or you’ll end up disappointed.”

People have supported the Bengaluru-based CEO for expressing his hardship.

A user said, “Your story and perseverance always pushed me to never give up. I want to share my ideas and want your review.”

Another added, “Having myself going through these, I can feel you.”

“Failure is part of the game. Resilience matters. Your journey and experience are remarkable. Thanks for sharing, Harsh,” a comment read.

A person added, “Every overnight success is a journey of more than 1000 days.”
