Traveling to and from the Hitec City could soon boost shared mobility with ride hailing app Uber launching Uber Shuttle. The move seeks to provide a convenient alternative to private vehicluar mobility and could also play its part in easing traffic congestion in Hyderabad.

The service will offer free rides aboard Uber Shuttle for three weeks even as it connects residential localities in Alwal, Ameenpur, Bachupally, Nampally, Uppal, and Vanasthalipuram to Hitec City through certain routes.

According to Uber, the initiative follows the service’s success in Delhi and Kolkata.

“Hyderabad is one of the fastest-growing cities in India, and its traffic congestion is a challenge we believe shared mass mobility can help solve. By offering free Uber Shuttle rides for three weeks, we want commuters to experience the magic of Uber brought alive on Uber Shuttle firsthand. We expect more people to opt for shared mobility options and elevate the everyday commute experience,” Amit Deshpande, Head of Uber Shuttle India, was quoted as saying.

The Uber Shuttle service allows commuters to pre-book seats up to a week in advance, track live shuttle locations, and check estimated arrival times through the Uber app. To ensure a safe and comfortable journey, standing passengers are not permitted.
