Toyota Introduces C-HR+: Toyota has revealed its latest electric vehicle, the C-HR+, in Europe. This marks the company’s third fully electric car, joining the bZ4X and Urban Cruiser EV. Initially, people thought it would be called the bZ3X, but it builds on the bZ Compact SUV concept from 2022. Toyota describes it as a key part of its growing electric vehicle range, according to their official statement.

What ‘+’ Stands For: The ‘+’ in C-HR+ highlights extra space and usefulness compared to the hybrid C-HR. Toyota explains it offers more room and the advantages of an electric powertrain. It comes with a 416-litre boot and a wheelbase of 2750 mm. This setup provides more interior space than most cars in its class, as shown in Toyota’s specifications.

Design Stays Familiar: The C-HR+ keeps much of the 2022 concept’s appearance. It has a stretched bonnet and a sharply sloped roofline, based on Toyota’s design details. The front features a ‘hammerhead’ look with narrow headlights and arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights. At the back, a light bar stretches across, paired with a roof spoiler, as revealed during the unveiling.

Size and Space: The C-HR+ is 4520 mm long, 1870 mm wide, and 1595 mm tall. Its 2750 mm wheelbase creates extra room inside. Passengers get plenty of headroom and a 900 mm gap between front and rear seats. The boot holds 416 litres.

Inside the Cabin: A 14-inch screen controls the infotainment system in the C-HR+. Toyota includes two wireless phone chargers, USB ports for rear passengers, and air conditioning controls at the back. Battery Options Explained: Buyers can choose between a 57.7 kWh battery or a 77.0 kWh battery for the C-HR+. The smaller one gives a 455 km range, while the larger one reaches 600 km, based on WLTP tests Toyota shared. It comes with an 11 kW charger, but High-grade versions get a 22 kW charger. Fast charging works at up to 150 kW.

Power and Drivetrain: The C-HR+ offers front-wheel drive as standard, with all-wheel drive available on the 77.0 kWh battery. Power starts at 165 bhp, increases to 221 bhp, or reaches 338 bhp, Toyota states. The all-wheel-drive model accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 5.2 seconds.

Driving Made Fun: The C-HR+ is built on the e-TNGA platform, also used by the bZ4X. Toyota says the suspension is adjusted to make driving enjoyable with good handling. The electric steering system is updated for quicker responses.
