Salman Khan’s much-anticipated action drama Sikandar has made a promising start at the box office with an estimated Rs 1.92 crore in advance bookings for its opening day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has sold approximately 67,293 tickets across India, setting the stage for an impressive Eid 2025 launch on March 30.
Of the total advance booking collections, an estimated Rs 1.91 crore came from 2D shows, while the IMAX 2D version contributed approximately Rs 45,778. The film has secured around 9,110 shows across the country, reflecting high audience anticipation.
Regionally, Sikandar has shown strong pre-release performance. Maharashtra led with an estimated Rs 1.24 crore, followed closely by Delhi with Rs 1.11 crore. Rajasthan contributed approximately Rs 51.08 lakh, while Gujarat and Karnataka reported Rs 49.94 lakh and Rs 28.82 lakh, respectively.
Overall, the film has earned an estimated Rs 6.1 crore which include blocked seats.
Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, Sikandar boasts a star-studded ensemble cast featuring Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in key roles. The film marks Salman Khan’s reunion with producer Sajid Nadiadwala after their 2014 blockbuster Kick.
As Sikandar gears up for its Eid release, it will share the box office spotlight with the Malayalam action thriller L2: Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. L2: Empuraan, which stars Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, is scheduled to hit theatres on March 27, just days before Sikandar’s release.
Addressing concerns about a potential box office clash, Prithviraj recently clarified during a press conference that there is “no competition” between the two films. “Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country, and there is no competition between the two movies. I hope it becomes a blockbuster,” he said. He further added, “I will have no complaints if you watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.”
All eyes are now on the film’s opening weekend numbers to see if it can replicate or surpass the success of Khan’s previous Eid releases.
