The actress took to her Instagram stories to share a note: “Yes!! Comedy is the issue that plagues us!!! Bingo!! (clapping emojis).” The statement appears sarcastic, and she shared the note after Kunal’s direct post, in which he is seen holding the Constitution of India in his hands, stating that he will not apologise for the ongoing controversy.
Kunal’s parody of Eknath Shinde, the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, has sparked a row among followers of his political party. In response, Shiv Sena workers vandalised the studio in Mumbai’s Khar area where Kamra’s show took place.

The Mumbai Police have filed an FIR against Kunal following a complaint by Shiv Sena legislator Murji Patel. The case, registered at MIDC Police Station, accuses Kamra of making defamatory statements against Shinde during his performance on Sunday.

Meanwhile, authorities have also initiated legal proceedings against approximately 40 Shiv Sena workers for allegedly vandalising the Mumbai studio. The same group is accused of damaging a hotel that houses the studio.
Following the incident, filmmaker Hansal Mehta voiced his support for Kunal with a social media post, recalling a similar experience he faced 25 years ago with his film Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!!. “What happened with Kamra is, sadly, not new to Maharashtra. I’ve lived through it myself.” Reflecting on the time when “loyalists of the same (then undivided) political party stormed into my office” and vandalised his workspace, he wrote, “They vandalised it, physically assaulted me, blackened my face, and forced me to apologise publicly—by falling at the feet of an elderly woman—for a single line of dialogue in my film (sic),” Hansal shared in a note on Instagram.
