Lisa Ray recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her disappointment with Air India after they denied a medical waiver for her ailing father. Despite submitting all necessary medical documents from his doctor, the waiver was refused.
Lisa wrote, “Here we go again @airindia My father is 92, unwell and I have to cancel travel due to his ailing condition. Submitted doctors letter and the waiver was denied? How is that possible? Where is the empathy from an airline that is claiming to care about passengers???”
After receiving a response from Air India’s X account, Lisa Ray shared a screenshot from the booking website. The screenshot revealed that no medical waiver was available, and it also mentioned that her father was hospitalized, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
Lisa launched her career as a model in the early 1990s before transitioning to acting with her debut in ‘Hanste Khelte’ in 1994. She gained recognition for her roles in films such as ‘Kasoor’, ‘Water’, and ‘I Can’t Think Straight’. In 2009, Lisa faced a significant health challenge when she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare form of bone marrow cancer. After a relapse three years into her recovery, she documented her experiences in her memoir ‘Close to the Bone’, released in 2019.
On the personal front, Lisa Ray married businessman Jason Dehni in 2012. The couple was blessed with twin daughters, Soleil Ray-Dehni and Sufi Ray-Dehni, in September 2018. The actress was most recently seen in the second season of ‘Four More Shots Please!.’
