Joe Rogan, one of America’s leading podcasters, asserted his opinion on the escalating tension between the United States and Canada. President Donald Trump’s threats of tariffs, Rogan believes that the ongoing conflict is ‘the dumbest thing.’
The strain in the neighborhood began when Trump referred to Canada as the 51st state of the United States. Fueling the controversial issue, Donald Trump threatened to put tariffs on Canadian goods such as Lumber and Electric Vehicles, and the escalation stretched to booing America’s national anthem at NHL and NBA games which were in Canadian cities, Toronto and Montreal. This dismissed the years-long tradition of playing both the nations’ national anthem at the sports events.
In a recent episode ‘The Joe Rogan Experience‘ with guest Michael Kosta (#2290), the podcaster argued to ‘fix things’ between the nations, urging them to ‘become friends’ again. “We got to become friends with Canada again. We have to, like, you know, this is so ridiculous,” Joe Rogan expressed.
Additionally, he couldn’t believe the exchange of hurtful sentiments between the neighbours. He said, “I can’t believe that there’s like anti-American and anti-Canadian sentiment going on. It’s the dumbest thing there is,” highlighting the need for diplomacy between the neighbours.
Joe criticised the expressions where the Americans started questioning the reason for subsidizing goods, the American military that protects Canada, and the statements such as “They are our enemy,” urging them to deal with the problems.
Disagreeing with President Donald Trump, Joe Rogan doesn’t think Canada should be the 51st state. He jokingly mentioned that if there were to be any 51st state, it would be Greenland. “It would be fun if it happened, but I think Greenland is more accessible. We could probably buy that. If you want a 51st state, it’s Greenland,” Joe humourously stated, according to Yahoo.
