At Akaal’s trailer launch, Gippy Grewal addressed the backlash against Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor for Nadaaniyan. He recalled facing doubts during Carry On Jatta but believes criticism can be motivating. Grewal noted that even Saif Ali Khan likely faced similar reactions early on, yet his growth silenced critics.
At the trailer launch, Gippy reflected on the skepticism he faced early in his career. He recalled how people mocked Carry On Jatta, doubting its success, yet it went on to achieve great numbers. He believes criticism can either discourage or motivate, and for him, it became a driving force to prove himself.

Grewal further shared that he wanted his Hindi film debut to be with a prestigious production house, and collaborating with Dharma made him proud. Speaking about Ibrahim Ali Khan, he noted that debut performances often receive mixed reactions. He compared it to Saif Ali Khan’s early days, emphasizing that growth and time shape an actor’s journey.

Reacting to the backlash over Nadaaniyan, Karan Johar quoted a classic film song, saying that people will always have opinions and it’s best to ignore unnecessary criticism. He emphasized moving forward without dwelling on negativity.
Nadaaniyan, directed by Shauna Gautam, features Khushi Kapoor, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Dia Mirza, Jugal Hansraj, Mahima Chaudhry, Suniel Shetty, Archana Puran Singh, and others. The film premiered on Netflix on March 7, 2025.
