Zomato, BPCL, Jio Financial, Britannia, Vedanta, Bajaj Housing: Top stocks to watch for February 24

Bharti Airtel | The telecom giant said it will raise its stake in Airtel Africa plc, a UK-listed subsidiary, by acquiring up to 5% of the company in one or more tranches during FY 2024-25. The acquisition will be carried out through Airtel Africa Mauritius Limited (AAML), a step-down subsidiary of Bharti Airtel. AAML currently holds a 57.29% stake in Airtel Africa plc.

Vedanta | The company has been declared the preferred bidder for Madhya Pradesh’s Kauhari Diamond Block, which covers a total area of 643.4169 hectares and is at the G4 exploration level.

Bajaj Housing Finance, BSE, CDSL | These are stocks, among others like NALCO, Premier Energies, that are set to be included in the FTSE India index. These inclusions mark a significant development for the companies involved, reflecting their growing importance in India’s equity market.

Paisalo Digital | This non-banking financial company (NBFC) has withdrawn its proposed issue of 3.37 crore convertible equity warrants. This decision comes due to market volatility and a significant 60% decline in its share price from its peak of ₹99.6.

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank | The company has approved the sale of non-performing assets (NPAs) and written-off loans to an Asset Reconstruction Company. The bank will sell a micro banking pool valued at ₹364.51 crore, which carries an overall provision of 66.51% on the pool.

RVNL | The company has been awarded the status of the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a project worth ₹156.35 crore by South Western Railway. The project involves the “Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 2×25 KV Overhead Electrification (OHE) and Power Supply (PSI) System” between Rayadurga and Topavagada in the TK-RDG section.

Lupin | The pharma major has received an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its manufacturing facility in Somerset, New Jersey. The inspection was conducted from January 27 to January 31, 2025.

Adani Green Energy | The company said that it’s unit, Adani Green Energy Twenty Four, has operationalised a solar power project of 250 megawatt (MW) at Bimsar & Dwada at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

Niva Bupa | The company reported that it was the victim of a cybersecurity breach. In a stock exchange notification, Niva Bupa said it received an anonymous email claiming that the sender is in possession of customer information, adding that it is investigating the claim.

Ami Organics | The pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturer has announced the decision of a stock split of one share of ₹10 each into two shares of ₹5 each.

Brigade Enterprises | The real estate heavyweight has announced an investment of ₹1,500 crores in Kerala on the eve of the Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025, aiming to generate over 12,000 jobs in the state over the next five years.

RailTel | The railways PSU has secured a ₹288 crore contract to install the Kavach anti-collision system across 71 stations of East Central Railway.

Allcargo Logistics | The company reported a 4% year-on-year increase in its January LCL (Less than Container Load) volume, although it saw a slight decline of 1% on a month-on-month basis. In contrast, the company’s FCL (Full Container Load) volume rose by 6% year-on-year, while it experienced a 9% month-on-month decrease in January.

Granules India | The pharmaceutical product maker said it will acquire 100% stake in Switzerland-based Senn Chemicals AG for ₹192.5 crore. The company will also incorporate a unit in India for the acquisition.
