Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have been in the spotlight due to rumours of their divorce. They have been sharing cryptic posts on social media, which have quickly gone viral.
Recently, Yuzvendra shared an Instagram story saying, “Be Kind, it’s chaos.” On Maha Shivratri, Dhanashree posted a picture of Lord Shiva with a caption: “May lord Shiva shower on you his blessings with happiness, prosperity and success.” This comes after reports that they have finalized their divorce. She also shared a series of happy pictures on the same day and wrote, “With Lord Shiva’s blessings, I’m Unstoppable… I feel strong and fearless

Dhanashree’s lawyer recently addressed the situation, stating, “I have no comments to make on the proceedings, the matter is currently sub judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated”.
Meanwhile, reports suggesting that Dhanashree demanded Rs 60 crore as alimony from Chahal have been strongly denied by her family. In a statement, they called the claims “baseless” and expressed outrage, stating, “No such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or offered.” They urged the media to fact-check and avoid spreading misinformation.
The statement read, “We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumours whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this only causes harm, and we urge the media to exercise restraint and fact-check before spreading misinformation and also be respectful towards everyone’s privacy”.
The divorce rumours between Chahal and Dhanashree began in August 2022 when she removed “Chahal” from her Instagram name, and Yuzvendra posted a cryptic story saying, “New Life Loading.” These actions sparked speculation about their relationship, which has continued to make headlines since then.
According to ABP News, Chahal and Dhanashree’s divorce proceedings began in February 2025, with the couple filing for divorce at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai. Recently, they attended a counseling session as part of the process, citing compatibility issues and having lived apart for 18 months. Despite reports suggesting the divorce is finalised, Dhanashree’s lawyer denies this, stating the matter is still ongoing.
The duo got married on December 22, 2020. They met during the COVID-19 lockdown when Chahal took dance lessons from her. Their relationship blossomed quickly, and they got engaged in August 2020 before tying the knot a few months later.
