New Zealand replaced Matt Henry with Nathan Smith in their playing XI for the final of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy in Dubai on Sunday. Smith, 26, is a right-arm pacer who is expected to share the new ball with Will O’Rourke and Kyle Jamieson to defend their modest 251-run total in the summit clash.
Smith has represented the Kiwis in only a handful of matches at the international level, playing two Tests and seven ODIs. However, he has toiled hard in the domestic circuit, turning up in 55 first-class encounters and 56 List A encounters. Smith has represented Wellington and Otago in the domestic circuit.
