Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama ‘Chhaava’ refuses to back down. Even after completing a month of theatrical release, the film stands as an unbeatable champion at the box office. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film minted more than Rs 22 crore in its fifth weekend, bringing its total collection to Rs 562.65 crore.
According to the Sacnilk report, the movie, after collecting Rs. 7.25 Cr (Hindi: Rs 6.5 Cr; Telugu: Rs 0.75 Cr) on its fifth Friday, saw a rise of around 8 percent and made Rs. 7.9 crore (Hindi: Rs 7.25 Cr; Telugu: Rs 0.65 Cr) on the fifth Saturday. Thereafter, on Sunday, with a minimal growth, the film collected Rs. 8 crore (Hindi: Rs 7.25 Cr; Telugu: Rs 0.75 Cr), taking the film’s total collection in India net to Rs 562.65 Cr (Hindi: Rs. 548.7 Cr; Telugu: Rs 13.95 Cr).
It is visible that the film benefited greatly from the Holi weekend.

With these numbers, ‘Chhaava’ has outperformed John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat.’ On Sunday, the John starrer thriller drama collected Rs.4.65 crore, almost half of what Vicky Kaushal’s epic historical drama made.
Chronicling the life moments of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the movie is based on the novel that has the same title. Sambhaji Maharaj was the second leader of the Maratha Empire, who did everything possible for Swaraj.
