Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the 9th biggest hit in Hindi cinema history. The film has amassed an impressive 386.25 crore India net in just 13 days surpassing several major blockbusters, like Aamir Khan’s Dangal which collected Rs 375 crore ( 10th biggest hit) , Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju earned Rs 343 crore , Aamir Khan’s PK minted Rs 340 crore and Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai collected Rs 339 crore.
And with no big film lined up for release for the next two weeks Chhaava is all set to improve its ranking and breach into the Rs 400 crore club. With that it can challenge other films like Yash’s KGF -Chapter 2 which had minted Rs 435 crore in Hindi and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal which has earned Rs 503 crore for box office supremacy.
Chhava starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai, Chhaava has won audiences over with its powerful storytelling, grand visuals, and gripping battle sequences. The film’s strong word-of-mouth and Vicky Kaushal’s compelling performance have cemented its place among Bollywood’s biggest successes.
With its extraordinary performance, Chhaava now joins the elite list of all-time Hindi cinema blockbusters. As it continues its box office journey, the film’s dominance reaffirms the growing audience appetite for historical epics, further solidifying Vicky Kaushal’s star power.
Post Chhaava, Vicky is all set to be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Vicky has allotted about 200 shooting days for the film. In fact Vicky underwent a major transformation for the film as he began shooting for the film post Chhava wherein he has bulked up to 105 kgs and he’s currently weighing between 80 to 85 kgs. The actor along with his trainer Tejas Lalwani had roped in a nutritionist to monitor the weight loss for the film , as he had to look very lean and sharp given he’s playing the role of an Air Force pilot.
