The meeting with the Washington-based Business Roundtable is set to include chief executives from around the country, including the bosses of Wall Street lending giants, according to people familiar with the matter.
Representatives for the Business Roundtable and the White House declined to comment.
Trump’s presidential win had initially triggered a wave of optimism from banking leaders, but markets have been less certain recently about Trump’s approach, jolted by tariffs and emerging concerns about an economic slowdown. He said last week there may be an “adjustment period” as tariffs take effect.
