Tina Ahuja reveals going on crash diets as her father Govinda told her, 'Mote unhealthy accha nai lagta'

Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have two children – Yashvardhan and Tina Ahuja. While Yashvardhan is yet to make his debut at the movies, Tina started her career with Second Hand Husband alongside Gippy Garewal. In a recent interview, Tina has revealed that she had put on a lot of weight in between and that’s when her father Govinda asked her to be fit. She revealed further that she has tried every kind of crash diet and has now lost weight.
Tina spoke about her diet during a chat with Curly Tales and said, “I have done every type of dieting. I always had a nutritionist since my teens. I remember going from this aalo ka parantha diet to only having 600-700 calories in a day, which I don’t recommend to anyone. I only used to have black coffee, wear dhoti pants, it was a boho phase of my life with those red lips. But now, I have come to a point where I want to eat very good food – I eat berries, have smoothies, workout, green juices, nuts, and I sleep very well now.”
Earlier, Tina had said in an interview about how Govinda used to tell her to lose weight. When asked if he still says so, Tina said, “Not now, but this has been going on since my teens. He was always like, ‘Tum fit raha karo, ache lagne chahiye, mote unhealthy acha nahi lagta’. I never had any problem or anything. After my accident in Jaipur, I gained weight. I couldn’t workout for a year after that. I used to think I was fit.”
However, Tina got a reality check when Shilpa Shetty invited her for a film screening. “The biggest eye opener was thanks to Shilpa Shetty ji, she invited me for a screening. I had just come from London after a holiday and I walked in thinking I am a fairy. Then, I saw a tag on Instagram and I felt, ‘Oh, I have become so fat’.”
While Govinda asked her to be fit, mom Sunita doesn’t encourage her to follow a strict diet. Tina revealed, “My mom actually makes me eat, she tells me I look good fat.” Sunita who was also present in this interview with Tina, said, “Mere according, mann nahi maarna, don’t overeat, but eat everything. It’s better you workout and walk daily. I go for a brisk walk in the morning for one hour everyday.”
