Thane Railway Station project details and timeline
The railway station is being developed near Platform 10A of Thane railway station, covering an area of 9,000 square metres (sqm). Additionally, 24,280 sqm of space will be leased out for commercial use, with the lease potentially extending for up to 60 years. According to project plans, construction is scheduled for completion by June 30, 2026, reported News18 Hindi.
To enhance multimodal transport access, the station will be well-connected with bus and metro networks, ensuring seamless travel for commuters. The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) and the Thane Municipal Corporation are jointly overseeing the project.

Facilities at new Thane Railway Station
The upcoming railway station will provide extensive passenger amenities, with following key highlights:
Basement parking: A designated parking facility will be developed to accommodate vehicles, ensuring convenience for passengers.
Bus deck connectivity: A dedicated deck for buses will be integrated into the lower floors, enabling hassle-free transitions between different modes of transport.
Retail and shopping spaces: The upper floors will be utilised for commercial purposes, including retail shops and shopping centres.
Food courts and restaurants: The station will feature dining options such as food courts and restaurants, catering to commuters and visitors alike.
Entertainment and office spaces: A gaming zone for children and dedicated office spaces will be established, making the station a multifunctional destination.

Enhanced connectivity and infrastructure
The railway station will integrate with a 2.24-km elevated road, directly linking it to the Eastern express Highway. Additionally, a dedicated bus movement deck near Platform 10 will ensure seamless transitions from trains to buses, reducing passenger congestion.
