Tamannaah Bhatia is gearing up for the release of her much-awaited supernatural thriller film ‘Odela 2’, directed by Ashok Teja and created by Sampath Nandi. Ahead of the film’s release on April 17, the team held a press meet yesterday (March 22), where Tamannaah confronted a media personnel for asking her about her journey from a ‘milk beauty’ to ‘Shivashakti’ in the film.

During the press meet, writer Sampath was asked by a media personnel how he thought of casting a ‘milky beauty’ like Tamannaah in a ‘Shivashakti’ role. Tamannaah took over the question from Sampath, visibly disappointed at receiving such a question from a female reporter.
“Your question, Ma’am, has the answer in it. He doesn’t look at ‘milky beauty’ as something to be shamed or to feel bad about. Glamour in a woman is something to be celebrated, and we women must celebrate ourselves,” she began.
The actress further urged women to accept and respect themselves, stating that only then would others, irrespective of gender, respect them in return. “Only then can we expect other people to celebrate us. But if we look at ourselves in a certain way, then nobody can respect us, right? Here, we have a wonderful gentleman who doesn’t look at women like that. He sees women as divine, and divinity can be glamorous, lethal, powerful—divine can be many things. I mean, a woman can be many, many things,” she concluded.
The reporter later clarified that she did not intend it as a negative remark, but Tamannaah was keen to change the way people perceive her as a ‘milky beauty.’
