There were reports circulating on the internet about actress Tamannaah Bhatia being summoned by the Puducherry Police in connection with a Rs 2.4 crore cryptocurrency fraud case. Now, she has addressed these reports, calling them “fake and misleading.” The Baahubali actress also assured that legal action would be taken against those spreading such misinformation about her.
In her statement to Hindustan Times, Tamannaah said, “It has come to my attention that rumours are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealings with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumours.” The actress also emphasised that her legal team is already looking into the matter.
Reports surfaced earlier today, alleging that both Tamannaah and Kajal Aggarwal might be called in for questioning by the Puducherry Police regarding an alleged cryptocurrency scam. According to 123Telugu, a complaint was filed by Puducherry resident Ashokan, who claimed that a Coimbatore-based firm defrauded him and ten others of Rs 2.4 crore through a crypto investment scheme. Ashokan alleged that Tamannaah was present at the company’s launch event in 2022, while Kajal attended another related function in Mahabaleshwar. These reports suggested that the police had sought clarification from the actresses. However, no official statement has been issued by the authorities.
On the work front, Tamannaah was last seen in ‘Sikandar Ka Mukaddar’, which was released on OTT. It also featured Avinash Tiwary and Jimmy Sheirgill in key roles. She will next appear in ‘Odela 2‘.
