LIC | The state-owned insurer said it has received a goods and services tax (GST) demand order from the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Mumbai, for the financial year 2020-21. The total demand, including GST, interest, and penalty, amounts to ₹479.88 crore. The breakdown of the demand is as follows: ₹242.23 crore in GST, ₹213.43 crore in interest, and ₹24.22 crore as a penalty.

Transrail Lighting | The company said it has secured new orders worth ₹2,752 crore, primarily in the transmission & distribution (T&D) segment. Last month, Transrail Lighting said it’s planning a new manufacturing unit to meet rising demand. Managing Director and CEO Randeep Narang said the company’s order book stands at ₹10,300 crore, with an additional ₹3,400 crore in potential orders.

Coal India | The company announced a uniform levy of ₹300 per tonne across all mines of its subsidiary, Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL), effective from May 1, 2025. The move, approved by the CIL board, is expected to generate additional revenue of approximately ₹3,877.50 crore. The charge, named the “Singrauli Punarasthapan Charge,” will be imposed over and above the notified coal prices, as per a regulatory filing with stock exchanges.

GE Power | The company has secured an additional contract worth ₹2,735 million (₹273.5 crore), exclusive of taxes, from GREENKO KA01 IREP Private Ltd as part of its existing agreement for the Saundatti Hydro Project in Belagavi, Karnataka. The additional contract covers the engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply, installation, and testing of electromechanical equipment for one additional 320 MW unit at the Saundatti pumped storage project (PSP).

Schaeffler India | Industrial and automotive components maker reported a strong set of numbers for the December quarter, with net profit rising 13.2% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹237.3 crore, compared to ₹209.6 crore in the same quarter last year. The company’s revenue from operations climbed 13.9% YoY to ₹2,136 crore, reflecting robust demand across its key segments.

KSB | India’s leading pump and valve manufacturer delivered strong growth in Q4, with net profit rising 33% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹73 crore, compared to ₹54.9 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations grew 20.5% YoY to ₹726.4 crore, reflecting steady demand across key sectors. Operating performance remained strong, with EBITDA increasing 26.5% YoY to ₹85 crore from ₹67.2 crore. Margins expanded slightly to 11.7% from 11.2% YoY, indicating improved cost efficiencies and higher operational leverage.

Kernex Microsystems | The company announced that South Eastern Railway has issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) to the KERNEX-MRT consortium for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the Kavach safety system on “GO & GO” routes (688 RKM) in the Kharagpur and Chakradharpur divisions. The contract is valued at ₹325.33 crore (including GST) and has a completion timeline of 1,000 days from the appointed date. Kernex Microsystems is the lead member of the consortium executing this project.

Paisabazaar | The parent of online insurance aggregator Policybazaar announced a leadership transition at its wholly owned subsidiary, Paisabazaar Marketing and Consulting Private Ltd, with Santosh Agarwal appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), effective March 1, 2025. She will report to Yashish Dahiya and lead Paisabazaar’s next phase of growth, expanding its footprint in unsecured and secured lending, pensions, and savings.

Chemplast Sanmar | Speciality chemicals company announced that it, along with its wholly owned subsidiary Chemplast Cuddalore Vinyls Ltd (CCVL), will acquire equity shares in JSW Green Energy Nine Ltd, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) set up by JSW Neo Energy Ltd for renewable power generation in Tamil Nadu. The investment, totaling ₹30.43 crore, will be made in cash, with Chemplast Sanmar acquiring an 18.46% stake for ₹21.38 crore and CCVL taking 7.81% for ₹9.05 crore.

Sanofi | The company posted steady growth in the fourth quarter of 2024, with revenue increasing by 9.7% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹514.9 crore, compared to ₹469.2 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. EBITDA rose 18.8% YoY to ₹118.3 crore, up from ₹99.6 crore. Operating margins also improved to 23%, compared to 21.2% in Q4 2023. However, the company’s net profit declined by 33.7% to ₹91.3 crore, down from ₹137.7 crore a year ago.

HCLTech | IT services company announced a strategic agreement with Children’s Minnesota, a renowned non-profit and one of the largest paediatric health systems in the US, to improve operational efficiency, streamline service delivery, and enhance patient care using AI. HCLTech will leverage its HCLTech AI Force platform to optimise Children’s Minnesota’s operational systems with a reliable and scalable digital solution.

RVNL | State-owned company said it has received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from Central Railway for a ₹135.66-crore contract involving the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 132/55 KV traction substations, sectioning posts (SPs), and sub-sectioning posts (SSPs) in the Bhusaval-Khandwa section. The project, awarded under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode, is aimed at meeting the 3,000 MT loading target for the railway section.

Tata Power | The company said Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd’s (TPREL) wholly-owned subsidiary, TP Solar Ltd, has secured a contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the supply of 292.5 MWp domestic content requirement (DCR) solar modules. The project is awarded under the CPSU Scheme Tranche-III and reinforces TP Solar’s commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy transition. The contract, valued at approximately ₹632 crore, entails the delivery of high-quality DCR modules to the designated site in Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh.
