The suspension comes after growing concerns over unjustified deductions, low reimbursement rates, non-renewal of tariff rates, and one-sided blacklisting of hospitals by the insurers.
Hospitals claim that delayed and reduced payments by insurance companies have made it increasingly difficult to continue offering cashless services.
The Ahmedabad Hospital and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA) has raised concerns about non-transparent pricing policies and financial strain on healthcare providers due to arbitrary tariff structures.
From April, patients covered under Star Health and Tata AIG policies will need to pay for medical expenses upfront and claim reimbursements later. This could pose a significant challenge for policyholders who rely on cashless services for ease of treatment.
