Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya for divorced in 2021 after four years of marriage. They got separated with mutual consent. However, the alimony rejected by Samantha has become the topic of discussion yet again amidst Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma‘s divorce. It was reported that Verma is set to get an alimony of Rs 4.75 crore after the divorce. Verma was also trolled for it. Meanwhile, amidst that, even the alimony which Sussanne Khan got after divorce with Hrithik Roshan, came under the limelight again. As per reports, Hrithik paid an alimony of Rs 380 crores to her.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Samantha was offered an alimony of Rs 200 crore, which she rejected. Some even suggested that she was given Rs 50 crore alimony but she didn’t want any of it. It was said that she was too distraught to even think of the money. Reports had quoted a source saying, “Samantha, who is heartbroken and distraught, only needed love and companionship from this marriage and now that it is over, she doesn’t need anything else from it.”
Chay has recently opened up on his divorce with Samantha on VK podcast. He said, “We wanted to go our own ways. For our own reasons, we have taken this decision, and we respect each other. We are moving on in our lives, in our own way. What more explanation is needed, I don’t understand. I’m hoping the audience and media will respect that. We have asked for privacy. Please respect us and give us privacy on this matter. But, unfortunately, it is a headline. It became a topic of gossip. It became entertainment”
He added, “It was for the betterment of whoever was involved in that marriage. Whatever the decision was, it was a very conscious decision, after much thought and with a lot of respect for the other person. I’m saying this because it’s a very sensitive topic for me. I come from a broken family. I’m a child from a broken family, so I know what the experience is like. I will think 1000 times before breaking a relationship because I know the repercussions. It was a mutual decision.”
He also pointed out the fact that both Samantha and him have gracefully moved on in life. Chay recently got married to Sobhita Dhulipala in December 2024.
