Rekha Gupta becomes 4th female CM as BJP returns to power after 27 years

Delhi CM Oath Ceremony Live: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rekha Gupta has been appointed Delhi’s next chief minister (CM), marking the party’s return to power in the capital after 27 years. The decision was finalised during a legislative party meeting on Wednesday, February 19.

A seasoned politician, Rekha Gupta becomes the fourth female Chief Minister of Delhi and the second from the BJP, following Sushma Swaraj.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for today, February 20, at 12.05 pm, an auspicious time. The event will commence at 11.15 am and conclude by 12.25 pm.

In light of the ceremony at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi Traffic Police have issued an advisory for February 20, anticipating a large gathering. Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in effect from 7 am to 4 pm at key routes, including Subhash Park T-point, Raj Ghat, ITO, and Ajmeri Gate.

Commuters are advised to use the Paharganj side for access to New Delhi Railway Station, rely on public transport, and park only in designated areas to minimise congestion.
