Speaking at a post-budget webinar on “Agriculture and Rural Prosperity,” Modi emphasised that the government, now in its third term, has presented a full-fledged budget reflecting its policy consistency and commitment towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.
He noted that inputs from stakeholders had played a crucial role in shaping the budget, and now the focus should shift to its effective on-ground implementation. “Now this budget needs to be implemented more effectively on the ground,” he stated.

Underscoring the importance of agriculture in driving economic growth, Modi described the sector as the “first engine of growth” and reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering agricultural development alongside rural prosperity.
One of the key areas of concern highlighted by the Prime Minister was India’s reliance on imported pulses. He stressed the need to boost domestic production and urged the private sector to invest in high-yield crop seeds. Modi also encouraged stakeholders to deliberate on ways to refine existing agricultural initiatives.
“The webinar should not focus on discussing making a new budget. The budget has been formed, and our entire focus should be on the action,” he remarked, urging the stakeholders to address obstacles in implementation.

At a separate event in Delhi, Modi spoke about India’s evolving global stature as he mentioned the world’s growing interest in understanding the country. He further said that India is increasingly being recognised not just as a service provider but as a key manufacturing hub.
“For decades, the world referred to India as their back office. Now, India is becoming the new factory of the world. We are no longer just a workforce but instead becoming a world force,” Modi said.
It is to be noted that the Prime Minister’s remarks come at a time when India is focusing on self-reliance in critical sectors and strengthening its position in global manufacturing and agriculture.
