‘Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi’ fame Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor found himself under fire after he remarked on polygamy and the same caught the attention of the netizens. It all started when the actor in front of his wife, Ayeza Khan said that he has the right to marry four times. He added that since this is permitted by Allah, no one can take this right away from him. Following his statement, the actor faced a lot of backlash, and now breaking his silence on being trolled for his remarks on polygamy, the actor said he and his wife were laughing over the comments that they have been receiving.
On the Pakistani show Mehfil-e-Ramazan, Danish further clarified, “Jaisa ki maine kaha tha ki mujhe 4 shaadiyon ki ijaazat hai, lekin main kar nahi raha kyunki filhaal mujhe pyaar hai apni biwi se. Aur main aaj bhi ispar qayam hoon.” (As I said, I am allowed to marry 4 times, but I am not doing so because right now, I am in love with my wife. And I am still on my words).
He said that he used the word ‘filhal’ (right now) because of the uncertainty of life and death in the future. “Yeh jo lafz hai na ‘hamesha, hamesha koi nahi reh sakta,” he added.
After dating for six years, Danish and Ayeza Khan got married in 2014. Blissfully married for more than a decade now, the couple has two children, a son, Rayan Taimoor, and a daughter, Hoorain Taimoor. This controversy around the actor began when Danish in one of his interviews said, “Mujhe ijazat hai chaar shaadiyon ki, main kar nahi raha hun, voh alag baat hai. Lekin yeh ijazat mujhe Allah ne di hai, jo koi mujhse cheen nahi sakta. Lekin voh mera pyaar hai, respect hai Ayeza ke liye ki main filhaal zindagi inhi ke saath guzarna chahta hun.”
His words didn’t sit well with internet users. “The word filhaal. Look at his wife—how she is maintaining her calm while listening to this nonsense. This is an insult,” wrote an internet user, while another one penned., “Beyond imagination that a man like him would say this! He legit lost a fan in me.”
