In an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV18, Mohit Yadav, Co-Founder & CEO of Minimalist said, “With HUL, we know which store, what data, what is relevant or not relevant. HUL already has an on-ground team, so we can leverage a lot of those things. What took us 12-18 months to achieve, we can now scale 10 times more seamlessly.”
Beyond domestic growth, Minimalist is also eyeing faster entry into international markets. Typically, setting up new partnerships takes several months, but HUL’s global footprint will allow Minimalist to navigate these expansions more efficiently. “Given that HUL is present in most of these international markets, we now have easier access to the right distribution channels,” Yadav explained.
Minimalist will also benefit from HUL’s deep market insights and experience in handling global brands like Paula’s Choice. This will enable a streamlined distribution strategy, optimising retail presence both in India and abroad.
Yadav added that Minimalist will also tap into HUL’s global R&D centers for product innovation, clinical studies, and ingredient evaluation.
Despite HUL’s majority acquisition, Minimalist will continue to operate independently within HUL’s framework. “It was an easy decision. Both sides were aligned that we should continue to do what we have been doing so far,” Yadav confirmed.
Yadav and his team will retain full operational control, ensuring Minimalist stays true to its vision and growth strategy. “Yes, we will run the ship. There is no change in that even though ownership has changed completely,” he affirmed.
