One of the key highlights is the second phase of the Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Project, which will be implemented in 7,201 villages across 21 districts with an outlay of ₹351.42 crore. The government is also modernizing agriculture through artificial intelligence, with ₹500 crore set aside over two years. The first phase of this initiative is expected to benefit one lakh acres of farmland and 50,000 farmers.
A significant portion of the budget is directed towards improving irrigation infrastructure. The Maharashtra Irrigation Improvement Programme has been allocated ₹5,036 crore to enhance the canal distribution system. Additionally, ₹4,227 crore has been earmarked under the Jalyukt Shivar 2.0 initiative for 1,48,888 projects across 5,818 villages, with a completion target of March 2026.

The government has also approved large-scale river-linking projects, including the Wainganga-Nalganga project, which is estimated to cost ₹88,574 crore and will benefit 3.71 lakh hectares of farmland. Similarly, the Nar-Par-Girna project, costing ₹7,500 crore, will support farmers in Nashik and Jalgaon districts, while the ₹19,300 crore Tapi Mega Recharge project aims to improve irrigation in North Maharashtra and Western Vidarbha.
To provide relief to farmers facing high electricity costs, the government has announced free electricity for 45 lakh agricultural pumps of up to 7.5 HP under the Mukhyamantri Baliraja Mofat Veej Yojna. In a bid to promote sustainable farming, ₹255 crore has been allocated over the next two years under the National Natural Farming Mission, benefiting over two lakh farmers. A ₹4,300 crore bamboo plantation project will also be implemented to encourage bamboo-based industries.
The budget also includes measures to promote agribusiness and rural development. The Maharashtra Agribusiness Network (MAGNET 2.0) will receive ₹2,100 crore to create a hub for sustainable, high-value agricultural businesses. The government has introduced Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojna 2.0 in 27 districts to ensure reliable daytime power supply for farmers. A new scheme, Baliraja Farm and Pandan Road, has also been launched to improve the transportation of agricultural inputs and produce.
