The sacred festival here is celebrated with several cultural events, including dance performances, devotional songs and much more. As the auspicious festival approaches, Ayodhya is set to witness a significant influx of devotees.
To manage the crowd and ensure safety, Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi said the administration would take all major steps to make the experience of devotees smooth and comfortable.
“Any devotee coming to Ayodhya will not face any inconvenience… Our traffic and diversion plans are ready. Our sanitation and drinking water systems are all updated… We have two Shiva Temples that are of historical significance, Nageshwarnath and Kshireshwar Nath. We have made arrangements in both these places… people will not face any inconvenience,” Tripathi said as quoted by ANI.
City-Wide Preparations:
To manage vehicular movement and ensure minimal congestion as well as smooth transit, comprehensive strategies have been formulated.
Efforts to maintain cleanliness across the city have been increased, with new sanitation infrastructure and abundant drinking water supplies.
Additionally, special preparations have been made at key Shiva temples like Nageshwarnath and Kshireshwar Nath to facilitate the anticipated surge in devotees.
Railway Station Measures:
At Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, the authorities have implemented extensive crowd control measures to ensure smooth management and safety.
To avoid overcrowding, devotees will be allowed to enter the platforms only when their particular trains arrive.
An additional deployment of around 350 security personnel has been stationed throughout the railway complex.
Extensive barricades have been installed to efficiently regulate and direct the influx of passengers.
Specific zones have been constructed so that passengers can wait comfortably until their train arrives.
To keep passengers informed and maintain smooth travel, regular updates and information are being broadcast.
General Guidelines:
Travellers are advised to plan their visit in advance and be prepared for heavy crowds.
Ayodhya is a spiritual hub, so dressing modestly and following local customs is important. In addition to clothing, also bring comfortable shoes or sandals as you will be walking a lot.
Staying hydrated is critical. Bring a refillable water bottle to prevent buying single-use plastic bottles, which also benefits the environment.
Bring basic medications for common problems such as headaches and stomach problems, as well as any personal prescriptions. Bandages and antibacterial wipes are also useful.
Engaging with locals and taking part in traditions might enhance the experience.
