Actor Kunj Anand, who shared the screen with Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan in the recently released movie ‘Loveyapa’, recently addressed the box office failure of the film. Even though it did not perform well at the box office, he believes that audiences will embrace it once it becomes available on OTT.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Kunj shared his perspective on the evolving nature of film distribution and how OTT platforms have given a second life to many projects. He said, “Theatrical runs are unpredictable these days. Many films that didn’t do well in cinemas found immense success on OTT platforms. I’m confident ‘Loveyapa’ will be no exception. The story is heartfelt, and I believe the audience that missed it on the big screen will connect with it once it’s available for streaming.”
Kunj plays Junaid Khan’s on-screen friend, Puneet, in ‘Loveyapa;. Previously, he gained recognition for his performances in Your Honor and Pill. Directed by Advait Chandan, ‘Loveyapa’ was released on February 7. The film marked both Junaid and Khushi’s big-screen debuts, as they had previously made their acting debuts through OTT releases.
Junaid Khan made his OTT debut in ‘Maharaj’ in 2024 alongside Sharvari and Shalini Pandey. The movie garnered significant attention, and many praised his acting skills. He is now gearing up for the release of his next film with Sai Pallavi and is also set to collaborate with his father, Aamir Khan, on a project soon.
Meanwhile, Khushi made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ in 2023. The film featured newcomers such as Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, and others. She is now preparing for the release of ‘Nadaaniyan’ alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan.
