The all-female crew, personally selected by Sánchez, will take off from West Texas aboard a New Shepard rocket this spring, Blue Origin announced Thursday, February 27. While the exact launch date remains undisclosed, the suborbital trip will last about 10 minutes.
Joining them are Aisha Bowe, a former NASA rocket scientist and current CEO of an engineering firm, research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
Blue Origin has been flying tourists to the edge of space since 2021, with some paying hefty sums while others receive complimentary seats. It is unclear who is covering the cost of this flight.
This marks the company’s 11th human spaceflight. Bezos himself was on the inaugural crewed mission, flying alongside his brother.
