Justin Timberlake had to cancel his concert in Columbus, Ohio, at the last minute due to severe flu. Timberlake shared that he had been struggling with the flu throughout the day but still went ahead with soundcheck. However, his condition worsened, forcing him to cancel the show.
The singer made the announcement on his Instagram shortly after arriving at Nationwide Arena for the performance on Thursday night. In his message to fans, he expressed his deep disappointment, saying, “I’m heartbroken. I went into soundcheck battling the flu, and now it’s gotten the best of me.
It kills me to disappoint you and my team, who worked so hard to make this show happen. I want to reassure you, you’ll be getting refunds for your tickets. I love you all.”
His wife, actress Jessica Biel, had earlier posted about the tour, praising Timberlake’s dedication. She described it as special to watch him perform and be part of his journey. In an encouraging message before the show, she had written, “There’s truly nothing this man can’t do. One last show tonight; give it all you’ve got. I am the proudest.”
The Columbus concert was part of ‘Timberlake’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour,’ which was first announced in February 2024. The show had already been postponed once before—originally scheduled for October 23, it was delayed after Timberlake faced legal trouble due to a DUI case.
Fans who purchased tickets don’t need to take any action to get their money back. Ticketmaster, the official ticket seller, has confirmed that refunds will be processed automatically.
The company posted a notice on its website stating, “Unfortunately, the event organizer has had to cancel your event.” Ticketmaster assured buyers that refunds would be returned to the original payment method within 14 to 21 days, as soon as the necessary funds were received.
Although Timberlake has not announced a new date for the Columbus concert, fans remain hopeful that he will reschedule once he recovers. Many supporters have left messages on social media, wishing him a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing him back on stage soon.
