The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday (February 25) issued a two-day heatwave alert for Mumbai, Thane, and neighbouring districts in Maharashtra.
IMD scientist Sushma Nair told PTI that the temperatures are likely to be in the range of 37 to 38 degrees Celsius for the next two days.
The heatwave alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri on February 25 and 26.
On Monday, the IMD told CNBC-TV18 that temperatures may drop by 1-2 degrees on February 27 and 28 but it may not bring much relief from the high temperature.
