Fatty alcohols are essential raw materials used in detergents, lubricants, plastics, and cosmetics, with potential applications in the fuel industry.
“As discussed during the last conference, we have slightly moderated our numbers to about 4% instead of typically 6-7%, mainly due to headwinds in the Indian market. The international story is quite positive, and as far as the Indian market is concerned, one more quarter we will have to see.”
He also stated positive developments in infrastructure investments and government initiatives, which could support demand in the future. “There are positive signs in terms of the investments which are happening on infrastructure as well as certain announcements done by government. We expect our customer segments to have an uplift and effect. But we will have to wait and watch for one more quarter to see that impact, and that is why we have done a moderation in that particular number,” he added.

On March 5, Galaxy Surfactants announced that through its group companies, it has entered into a strategic collaboration with a global customer to provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for a performance surfactants and specialty ingredients manufacturing plant at an overseas location. Although financial details remain undisclosed, the company expects the partnership to strengthen its global presence.
As of March 7, 2025, fatty alcohol prices range from ₹81 to ₹250 per kg, with Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol (3070) priced at ₹125/kg and Fatty Alcohol C18 (Stearyl Alcohol) at ₹145/kg.
Galaxy Surfactants has a market capitalisation of ₹8,211.68 crore, though its shares have declined by nearly 8% over the past year.
