Esha Deol announced divorce with Bharat Takhtani in 2024. While Esha has not yet opened up on her divorce or the reasons for it, the actress is now set to make her comeback at the movies with ‘Tumko Meri Kasam‘. In a recent interview, while talking about her comeback movie, Esha opened up on now being a single parent to her two daughters after her divorce.
She was asked if it’s overwhelming to be a single parent and if she’s discovered something on this journey. She told The Quint, “It’s overwhelming, my daughters mean the world to me. Sometimes, between two individuals, their roles end playing X and Y. Specially when kids are involved, it’s important to keep the ego aside and have that threshold. We are parents to these beautiful kids so let’s give them the best. You change the roles and you co-parent.”
The ‘Dhoom’ actress further said, “if two individuals have decided something, let the children not suffer and let our ego aside and let’s try and work it out with these new roles that we have taken on into each other’s lives.”
The actress also spoke about taking a break from movies after her wedding and motherhood. She said, “My break was purely to start a family and I embraced motherhood twice over so automatically as a woman, it’s my choice, I want to give my children that time and rightfully so. I always wanted to do what every girl wants to do – marry, settle down, have children and I am still doing my bit wholeheartedly and for my two daughters, they enjoy the fact that their mom is an actor.”
Her next ‘Tumko Meri Kasam’ is directed by Vikram Bhatt and also stars Anupam Kher, Adah Sharma, Ishwaq Singh apart from Esha. It’s set to release on March 21.
