According to Downdetector.com, reports of service issues began surging around 6 a.m. Eastern Time and peaked again at 10 a.m., with over 40,000 users reporting difficulties accessing the platform. A more prolonged outage occurred at noon, with disruptions most concentrated along the US coasts.
Data from Downdetector.com indicated that 56% of the reported issues stemmed from the X app, while 33% were related to the website.
This is not the first time the platform has encountered major technical difficulties. In March 2023, when X was still operating under its previous name, Twitter, users experienced a wave of glitches that disrupted services for over an hour. During that incident, links stopped working, some users were unable to log in, and images failed to load.
