Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Aravind Mani, Co-Founder and CEO of River EV, emphasised that the brand aims to be present in at least 120 cities before launching its next product, a utility scooter.
“We started selling around 12-15 months back. Since then, we have sold close to 5,000 vehicles. Currently, we operate 12 stores, and from these locations, we sold nearly 750 vehicles last month. This places us at approximately number 10 or 11 in the country,” Mani stated.
In some markets with better distribution, such as Bangalore, River EV has even reached the fifth spot.
Mani expressed confidence in the company’s growth trajectory, stating, “People have been loving the Indie. We are growing slowly but steadily.”
River EV’s next phase is centered on scaling up distribution while maintaining a strong customer service framework. “We sold 750 vehicles from 12 stores, and now our goal is to expand to 100 stores. By March 2025, we will have 25 stores, with gradual scaling thereafter. However, our primary focus is to provide customers with the service they deserve. We do not sell products in any location without an accompanying service centre, ensuring sustained growth,” Mani added.
