The proposal involves hiking of user development fees (UDF) to ₹570 per international business and first-class passengers, compared to ₹280 per economy and premium economy passenger for the period of next 4 years.
The proposal also involves differential charging during peak and non-peak hours. Currently, ₹128 per passenger is charged by DIAL as UDF on base ticket price.
With airfares remaining dependent on demand and supply in a dynamic market, DIAL’s CEO highlighted that availability of more flights may witness in easing of airfares.
He added that Airport charges form only 1.5% to 2% of base airfare, and proposed increase of UDF (User development fees) may hike it to 2.5%.
