These numbers have come amid the ongoing online leak controversy. For the unversed, recently, the Laxman Utekar directorial was made available illegally across multiple platforms, promoting an FIR in the matter. A case has been registered in the matter, as the film has been leaked with around 1818 illegal links. Following the leak, a case has been registered under a case under CR No. 23/2025, citing offenses under Sections 316(2) and 308(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 51, 63, and 65A of the Copyright Act, Section 6AA of the Cinematograph Act (1952, amended in 2023), and Sections 43 and 66 of the Information Technology Act.
Meanwhile, coming back to its performance at the box office. The movie for a long time had no competition since its release, and now after more than a month of its theatrical debut, it refused to give up its dominance at the box office. Last Friday, John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat’ made it to the theatres, and this Friday, Gal Gadot’s ‘Snow White’ was released, but neither of the two could come close to the box office collection of ‘Chhaava’. Though the John Abraham starrer is getting a lot of praise from the audience and critics alike, and it had a decent start, the film couldn’t take the thrown from ‘Chhaava.’
On Saturday, which marked day 9 for ‘The Diplomat’ and day 2 for ‘Snow White,’ the movies saw a collection of Rs. 2.35 crore and Rs. 1.06 crore respectively.
