Axis Asset Management Company has announced the proposed appointment of Nandik Mallik as Head – Equity & Hybrid for its Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs).
Mallik brings over two decades of experience in financial services, with a background in asset management.
Axis AMC aims to expand into the SIFs category, and Mallik will lead its efforts in this emerging space. He has managed large AUMs across risk-adjusted funds and previously launched the Long Short Fund at ICICI Prudential AMC.
Before joining Axis AMC, he served as CIO at Avendus Capital Public Markets Alternate Strategies LLP.
B Gopkumar, MD & CEO of Axis AMC, said, “His experience will be crucial in expanding our equity and hybrid offerings in the SIFs space, subject to regulatory approvals.”
Mallik holds a BTech from IIT Kharagpur, a PGDM in Finance from IIM Calcutta, and a Master’s in Finance from London Business School.

It must be noted that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has introduced a new investment category known as Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs).
These funds are designed to bridge the gap between traditional mutual funds and portfolio management services, offering advanced investment strategies to investors with a higher risk appetite.
