Core sector output growth slowed to 4.6% in January 2025 from 4.8% in December 2024, according to commerce ministry data.Cement output increased the most to 14.5%. Barring crude oil and natural gas, where output fell by 1.1% and 1.5% respectively, other sectors registered growth. The electricity sector registered a growth rate of 1.3% in January from 6.2% a month ago. The eight core sectors contribute 40.27% to the Index of Industrial Production, which measures overall industrial growth.
