The dust has settled down on the Union Budget 2025-26 which was presented on February 1, 2025. Government is expected to spend ₹50,65,345 crore which is 7.4% higher than the revised estimate of 2024-25. Interest payments account for a hefty 25% of the total expenditure. Receipts are expected to be higher by 11.1 % at ₹.34,96,409 crore.
