John Taaffe, Apple Store leader, India, announced the hiring drive in a LinkedIn post, stating that Apple is looking for “passionate and talented individuals” to join its growing retail team in India.
“Apple’s journey in India has been incredible, and we’re thrilled to continue growing in these vibrant cities. To make these new stores a success, we’re looking for passionate and talented individuals to join our team.
“Whether you’re experienced in retail or eager to start a new career path, there are opportunities waiting for you. From customer service to store management, your skills can help us create amazing experiences for our community,” Taaffe wrote.
The company’s official careers page currently lists over 20 job openings in March, with nearly half dedicated to retail positions at “various locations” across the country. Reports suggest that Apple plans to recruit up to 400 individuals for these upcoming outlets, with each store expected to employ around 90 staff members.
This development aligns with Apple CEO Tim Cook’s announcement in October 2024 about opening four new retail stores in India.
The company inaugurated its first Indian retail outlets, Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in Delhi, in 2023. These stores have significantly contributed to Apple’s business in the country, accounting for nearly 20% of its operations in India.
Apple’s intensified focus on India is further evidenced by its recent initiatives, including the launch of the Apple Store app in the Indian App Store, enhancing the shopping experience for local customers.
Additionally, the company has commenced local assembly of the iPhone 16e, reinforcing its commitment to the Indian market.
