India, with around 2.5-3.5 million content creators, is seeing a huge surge in content creation and consumption. Content creators are playing a critical role in bringing the richness of local customs, festivals, cuisine, and more to not just people in the country but beyond. Interestingly, language ceases to be a barrier as their visuals — videos and pictures — are understood universally.
Content creation also allows creators to unleash their creativity and share it with the world. As per a report, in India, over 1.5 lakh creators monetise their content. While India is a voracious content consumer, a creator needs to find their niche to draw attention to their content and keep the audience hooked and return to their page. This makes content creation a continuous process, where a creator is constantly on a hunt to find new stories or content for their audience.
Staying ahead of the game
Technology and the right equipment can immensely help a creator. Of course, while the creativity and ability to find and tell stories rest with a creator, tools and tech can make the process much easier. For example, artificial intelligence (AI) can help with ideation, content curation and more, tech tools come in handy for better, faster, and cinematic video creation. Moreover, AI can even help creators understand their audience better, spot trends, and personalize their content to improve engagement.
Equipment such as ring lights, gimbals, tripods, microphones, power banks, and storage are must-haves even for beginners. For example, even a compelling story may fail to captivate the audience if told through shaky frames and bad lighting. And nothing worse than running out of storage or battery mid-shoot. Thankfully, today there are microSD cards with up to 2TB of storage and portable chargers that do not weigh like a brick anymore.
Investing and learning to work using video and photo editing software can change the game for a creator. Professional-quality video content also reflects a creator’s commitment. Moreover, brands mostly collaborate with creators that deliver professional-quality content.
Laptops or PCs are also go-to productivity tools for creators, as it is much easier to edit and produce pro-quality content on them. It is imperative that creators’ PCs are high-performance or transferring and editing data will turn into a frustrating chore. Here, again storage can help upgrade PC performance.
Continue to redefine storytelling
Content creators are modern storytellers, who captivate audiences transcending language and distance barriers. In this pursuit, they must continue to innovate, stay creative, and find new content to keep their audience hooked and to build community. However, sometimes this relentless search can lead to burnout.
Creators can depend on technology and tools, and even delegate some of the routine and time-consuming tasks to tech and tech tools.
For example, post-scheduling and long backups can be automated. Many other such tasks can be delegated to free up time and avoid burnout. Overall, thanks to content creators, storytelling is undergoing one of the most fascinating times in human history—and the rate at which creators are innovating and evolving, makes one wonder what’s next.
