Ajaz Khan, known for his appearance in Bigg Boss, recently shared his experience with Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra, in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail. He claimed that Raj’s biographical movie ‘UT69’ flopped because it portrayed falsehoods. He further alleged that Raj had forgotten the help Ajaz had given him during his difficult time in jail.
In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Ajaz Khan revealed his experiences inside the jail and how he supported Raj Kundra during his imprisonment. Ajaz shared that Kundra relied on him for basic necessities that were difficult to obtain behind bars. “Raj Kundra used to send me messages every day. He was under strict surveillance,” he shared. Ajaz was in jail for several months when Raj was there and helped him fulfil every need. “Be it a biscuit, a Bisleri bottle, or a cigarette, it’s a big deal to provide these things in jail. He would ask me for water, bread, and biscuits. Normal water was allowed, not Bisleri, but he wouldn’t drink it as he would fall ill,” he recalled.
Ajaz further claimed that the businessman never acknowledged his help after being released from prison. “The two months he spent with me is something he must not have even shared with his wife, Shilpa Shetty,” he stated, adding that the COVID-19 period was particularly difficult for them in jail.
“He used to cry the whole time. I went against people to save him in jail. Yet, he never remembers me or invites me to his lavish parties. He has forgotten his jail time,” he added.
Khan emphasised that Raj’s debut film ‘UT69’ flopped because he misrepresented reality. “He told his story, but he didn’t show the things he truly went through or the hardships humanity faces. Nor did he acknowledge the person who helped him in jail. I gave him water, bread, and butter despite strict orders from the jail superintendent. He never repaid my favours. He cut my role from his film. He never showed all that I did for him,” he concluded.
Raj Kundra has not responded to these claims as of now. ‘UT69’ was released theatrically in November 2023.
