During the proceedings, the court noted that DeepSeek is not the only such platform available online, observing that several similar tools exist. The bench also remarked that while harmful content is prevalent on the internet, it is not mandatory for individuals to use these platforms if they consider them harmful.
In a previous hearing, the court had directed the central government to furnish its response regarding the concerns raised in the petition. The plea claims that DeepSeek’s operations pose a risk to user privacy and data security in India.
The matter will now proceed as per the court’s regular schedule.
