YUVIKA 2025: Important Dates
Registration begins on: February 24, 2025.
Registration ends on: March 23, 2025.
Release of first selection list: April 7, 2025.
Reporting by selected students at ISRO centres: May 18, 2025, or as intimated.
Yuvika programme dates: May 19 to May 30, 2025.
Send-off date for students from centres: May 31, 2025.
Parameters for selection of students
Students must obtain 50% in Class 8 exams.
Students must gain 10% in the online quiz.
Participation in science fairs at school (2%)/district (5%)/state (10%) and above level in the last three years.
Rank in Olympiad or equivalent (1 to 3 rank in school (2%)/district (4%)/state (5%) and above level in the last 3 years.
Winners of sports competitions (1 to 3 rank in school (2%)/district (4%)/state (5%) and above level in the last 3 years.
Scout and Guides/NCC/NSS Member in the last 3 years: 5%.
Studying in Village/Rural School located in the Panchayat area: 15%.
All Class 9 students as of January 1, 2025, within India, are eligible to apply.
In a bid to ensure minimum participation from each state or Union Territory, the programme has been planned at ISRO’s seven centres across Dehradun, Thiruvananthapuram, Sriharikota, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Shillong.
Expenditure toward the travel of selected students along with course material, lodging, and boarding will be borne by ISRO.
YUVIKA 2025: Course details
According to the agency, the programme aims to educate younger students on Space Technology, Space Science, and Space Applications with the goal of ‘Catch them young.’ It is also expected to encourage more students to pursue education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-based research/careers.
