Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava has taken the box office by storm, emerging as the biggest Bollywood hit of 2025 so far. In just three days, the film has amassed an impressive Rs 116.5 crore, surpassing the lifetime collections of all Vicky Kaushal films except Raazi (Rs 123.74 crore) and Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs 244.14 crore). Given its strong advance bookings and continued momentum, Chhaava is poised to cross Raazi’s total collection by Monday, making it Vicky’s second-biggest hit to date.
In addition Vicky and Laxman Utekar’s latest film has also surpassed Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s Sky Force, which had previously held the title of 2025’s biggest Bollywood hit, the film’s total collection now stands at Rs 112 crore.
Chhava’s collection cements Vicky Kaushal’s position as a bankable star, proving his ability to draw audiences to theatres, especially in a genre as challenging as historical dramas. Chhaava, chronicles the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and has been lauded for its grand scale, intense performances, and patriotic appeal. The film’s gripping narrative and powerful action sequences have struck a chord with audiences, leading to extraordinary box office success.
Given the buzz about the film on social media and absence of any big film for the next two weeks make for a very good chance for Chhaava to have an uninterrupted run at the box office . The film might also have a very good chance of beating the collection of Uri to become Vicky’s biggest hit. The film also marks the second big success for Dinesh Vijan’s production house after Sky Force- he also has Thama lined up for Diwali. Thama is the latest addition to his expanding horror universe and it stars Ayushmann Khurrana with Rashmika Mandanna along with Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film was earlier going to be a solo release but it will now be clashing with Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s untitled film directed by Anurag Basu.
