Eden Gardens will also host the season’s final on May 25. Additionally, Qualifier 2 of the playoffs will also be played at the stadium.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the two most successful teams of the league will lock horns on March 23 in Chennai. Sunrisers Hyderabad, the finalist from last year, will take on Rajasthan Royals, the first-ever champions, earlier that day.
Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator of the playoffs have been scheduled for May 20 and May 21 respectively.Both these games will be played in Hyderabad.
The season will comprise of 74 games spread across 65 days. There will be 12 double-header days this year. The matches will be played across 13 venues — the home grounds of the 10 teams along with Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Dharamsala. Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Dharamsala will act as the second home grounds for Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings respectively.
